The wisdom and folklore of trees

Using the Doctrine of signatures and ancient folklore, every tree opens the door to a great wisdom.

The trees helps us to form new patterns, choices and pathways to fully inhabit the body again. Our body holds wisdom no curriculum can teach: a living intelligence in conversation with the world around us, the trees invite us to feel, to listen, and to allow coherence and alignment to return.

Tree Alchemy is a way back to the body’s intelligence, with teachings that help understand ourselves through a deeper relationship with nature.

  • Known as “King of the Forest’ symbolises strength and endurance through patience and support, linked to thunder, lightning, and sky they were viewed as vessels of divine power.

  • Known as ‘Queen or Mother of the Woods’ or the ‘Wishing tree’, encouraging introspection, the truth, connecting to our ancestors, intuition, wisdom and femininity. its smooth bark was used for writing before the invention of paper, and the Germanic word for ‘beech’ is closely tied to the word for ‘book"‘

  • The Tree of love, the heart, abundance and temptation. ‘Food of the Gods’ having its 5 pointed star centre. Represents the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It signifies the awakening of human consciousness, curiosity and the journey from innocence into experience.

  • The silver birch is deeply revered as the ‘Lady of the Woods’ and the ‘Goddess Tree’. Across ancient and modern traditions, its folklore universally centres on purification, new beginnings, resilience, and protection.

  • ‘Holly' also shares the linguistic roots with ‘holy’, its evergreen spiky leaves symbolise the crown of thorns, and red berries, the blood of Christ. The holly tree is a symbol of protection, endurance and eternal life.

  • The Tree

During a tree Alchemy session, we look at the wisdom that a specific tree offers and gifts us. Just as trees loose their leaves, we are encouraged to release and let go of emotional baggage and embrace change. Trees bridge the earth and the heavens while representing cycles of growth, death, and rebirth. Across global folklore, they are revered as vessels of profound wisdom, order and protection.

  • The Breath

Breathwork is a powerful and ancient practice that utilises something we do everyday. Breathing is an action that we can do consciously and unconsciously. For that reason we start with the breath as it is a gateway into our nervous system, allowing us to bring our whole selves into a state of restful awareness and deep peace.

  • The Journal

Each session will have a theme from the over arching tree, this will lead to focussed questions. Journaling offers significant benefits for deep enquiry and reflection, improving self-awareness and tracking our internal processes. Journalling is a potent tool to aid our emotional growth and mental clarity.  We will focus on intentions that we individually make, tracking our process and reviewing what we are allowing to compost and release!

  • The Meditation

Movement practices are an immersion into our subtle anatomy, our biofield or aura. We will be encouraged to listen to and sense our energy, where we maybe holding onto old stagnant energy that no longer supports our physical and emotional well being. Movements use a sacred geometric template, when integrated with our intention, energy and breath, create a powerful tool for change.
